Andrew D. Fisher is currently a general surgery resident at University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, NM. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University College of Medicine. Prior to medical school, he was a physician assistant in the US Army, assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment for nine years, obtaining the rank of Major. In active service he is considered the, "God Father" of whole-blood transfusions, and is well known for his contribution to the research for utilization of low titer O negative whole blood "LTOWB" and their use in trauma. He is the credited author with over 55 scholarly articles and 2 book chapters.
