"Dr. D" has provided emergency medical and trauma care in university and community settings for more than 25 years. His involvement with helicopter transport has been as an onboard aeromedical physician, teacher and administrator. Inspired by the prior work and successes of GRM, he joined the group first as a volunteer physician to help with the care of the refugees and asylum seekers camped out, stranded on our own southern border in Matamoros Mexico. Scott then became involved in the COVID-19 planning, on-site ultrasound education, telemedicine and most recently, search and rescue.
While Dr. D has lectured nationally, been published and chaired institutional review boards, his main interest has always remained clinical care and teaching others in Emergency Medicine so they may be appropriately confident in emergencies and "be comfortable in uncomfortable settings."
