Dr. Scott Dunavant, FACEP
Senior Medical Director

Dr. Scott Dunavant is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over 25 years of experience in high-acuity care, medical leadership, and austere environment medicine. He is residency-trained in Emergency Medicine, a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), and a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM).

Dr. Dunavant’s operational experience includes serving as an aeromedical physician and administrator in helicopter transport medicine, as well as providing advanced trauma and emergency care in resource-limited and conflict-affected settings worldwide. His deployments have included forward medical operations in Ukraine following the Russian invasion, field care in Kurdistan/Iraq, remote medical support in Guatemala, and humanitarian response on the U.S.–Mexico border.

As Medical Director for Global Response Medicine, Dr. Dunavant oversees the scope of practice and clinical standards for a multidisciplinary team, including a cadre of special operations medical veterans. In this role, he ensures GRM personnel deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care in complex, high-threat, and resource-limited environments. He has also taught Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Wilderness Life Support, and Stop the Bleed to both civilian and military personnel worldwide.

In addition to his field and leadership roles, Dr. Dunavant has published in peer-reviewed journals, chaired institutional review boards, and served on multiple hospital and government emergency medicine committees. He has held academic appointments, including Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Kentucky, and has presented nationally and internationally, including at the United Nations City in Copenhagen. His expertise continues to advance the capabilities of both civilian and military medical teams operating in challenging conditions.
