Gaza: Standing Beside Local Partners

In 2024, GRM staff entered Gaza twice in response to the humanitarian emergency. Rather than mounting an independent response, our focus was on supporting organizations with deep local footprints and strengthening existing efforts.

Supporting Local Systems

• Veteran GRM trauma teams deployed to Gaza to work alongside clinicians at Nasser Hospital and other key facilities.
  
• Supported the WHO Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Cluster in coordination, planning, and clinical reinforcement.
  
• Partnered with NGOs including Med Global and Heal Palestine to expand trauma care capacity and provide bedside mentorship.

Challenges on the Ground

• Logistics remain a major impediment to sustained operations. Limited access, supply chain restrictions, and security conditions continue to challenge international medical support.
  
• GRM’s strategy has been to maximize impact by embedding with local actors and leveraging our expertise in trauma medicine where it is most needed.
